Canine and human troops need continuing practice in the discovery and disablement of IEDs. While we are not experts in the field and we do not offer IED discovery or disablement training, we make our firing facility available to law enforcement and other qualified customers for training of canine or human troops. The facility provides sufficient room for staged scenarios, a place for live-fire practice with energetic tools, and an "energetics toolbox" containing many of the materials needed to practice disablement techniques.
Canine Troop Training
We are told by handlers that even well trained canine troops with experience in detecting small quantities of explosives can sometimes be confused or overwhelmed in the presence of larger quantities. Our test site offers a venue for exposing canines to larger quantities of material and a variety of different explosive types. We can also arrange for staged scenarios with vehicles, transportainers, or other props for a more realistic practice environment. Please contact us to discuss your training venue needs.
Human Troop Training
Continuing practice with all types of detection and disablement tools is essential to maintain proficicency. At our explosives test facility, troops can enjoy live-fire practice with energetic disablement tools, or use our "energetics toolbox" to test new disablement concepts. Upon request, we can also arrange staged scenarios using vehicles, temporary buildings, or other props to provide a more realistic detection and disablement environment. Please contact us to discuss your training venue needs.
Explosives Handling
To become properly qualified to handle and use explosives a trainee must acquire hands-on experience under the guidance of knowledgeable and experienced instructors. Learning to arm and place destruct charges for different types of explosives and different scenarios requires practice for maximum safety and effectiveness. We can make our test site and a variety of energetic materials available to law enforcement and other qualified training programs so that trainees can receive this invaluable hands-on practice. Please contact us to discuss your training venue needs.
